Our 2nd Annual Sniper Golf Invitational
Our 2nd Annual Sniper Golf Invitational was held over Labor Day weekend. This year we had two full days of competition in both our Sniper Golf Course and Giffy Challenge Course. As well as two divisions: Competitive League and Beer League (no actual alcohol consumption took place during competition).
Sequence of Events:
Sept 1: 12pm – 6pm: Zero Weapons
6pm: Social at Team Torn Bar
Sept 2: Competition Day 1
9am: Arrival, safety brief, split into teams and divisions
6pm-10pm: Social at Team Torn Bar
Sept 3: Competition Day 2
9am: Arrival
6pm-10pm: Social at Team Torn Bar and Awards presentation
Sept 4: Return home
Event Overview.
The Sniper Golf Tournament is a dynamic precision rifle match consisting of multiple stages and courses of fire where competitors engage targets from medium (180 yds) to extended ranges (965 yds) from various shooting positions as a test to the competitors long-range shooting skills.
Division: Teams will consist of two people competing in two separate leagues: The Competitors League and the Beer League. The Competitors League is for those participants with extensive long-range experience (Precision Rifle professionals, Military Snipers, etc) who take competition seriously. The Beer League is for those competitors with less or no experience, who seek to learn and have fun while participating.
Caliber:
Giffy Challenge: 5.56/.223
Sniper Golf: Caliber: 7.62/.308; .260; 6.5 Creedmoor, or like caliber
Optics:
Giffy Challenge: Optic of 4x power or less.
Sniper Golf Course: Open to all optics.
Course of Fire.
Giffy Challenge (Course of Fire 1): Nine firing positions (Holes) engaging targets from 180 yds to 360 yds. Competitors will use tactical shooting positions in natural terrain. The course is situated on a finger terrain feature and will be shot from bottom to top, then top to bottom for a total of nine holes.
Sniper Golf Challenge (Course of Fire 2): Nine firing positions (Holes) plus 1 Bonus Hole engaging targets from 465 yds to 965 yds. Course is situated on a 5-mile loop at altitude up to 7,000 feet.
